TightSteer eliminates free-play in Ross steering boxes used on Jeeps and many early vehicles. Tightsteer's spring-loaded plunger keeps the sector shaft in constant contact with the cam (worm) and helps to reduce or eliminate the notorious "death wobble." Model 100 features a 7/16˝-20 threaded shaft with “standard spring” and fits the steering boxes on: MB, GPW, CJ-2A, CJ-3A, Cj-3B, CJ-5 (to 1967), CJ-6, DJ-3, M38, Jeepster '48-'51, Willys station wagon 2WD ’46-’53, Willys truck ’46-’53, (American Bantam '39-'40), Auburn ‘35-’36, Crosley ‘39-’42, International K1-K3 ''40-'56, Pierce Arrow ‘35-’38, Reo ‘35-’36, Studebaker Champion ‘39-’42, Studebaker pickup ’53-’55, Studebaker LandCrusier '35-'49, Studebaker 1/2T C cab '48-'58, Willys Aero ‘41-’42, Willys ‘60-’62 FJ3A, and other vehicles in which the small Ross steering box was used. Installation instructions are included.

TightSteer replaces the "Lever Shaft Adjusting Screw" in the attached Ross Steering Box diagram.

Several early tractor manufacturers used Ross steering boxes. To determine which TightSteer you need, measure the diameter of the set screw.
